Mazatlan: Sunshine at last

Day 22 - Tuesday 11th October 2005

I woke up hoping the sun was shining and low and behold, it was! That made my mind up, I was going to go to the beach. I got on the bus and headed uptown to the tourist district, where the Information girl (very fit - tried it on, didnt get anywhere) had said was the best beach to go to.

I got up there and it was indeed a good beach. The surf was up and the water was unbelievably warm! It was hard to believe it was the middle of October. The humidity here is something I have not experienced before and it does take a while to get used to it. I wont say I am used to it now, but I can walk around without becoming a sweaty mess. That is until I pick up my pack. Then I just start leaking!

Anyway, I stayed on the beach for a few hours, topped up the tan and then walked back to my hotel, which was a couple of miles around the bay of Mazatlan. By that time most of the day had been used up and I had my fill of the sun, so I decided to keep abread of current affairs and use the internet. This time was spent wisely as I managed to get some pics up on this site at last!

After a couple of hours on the net for $20 Pesos (about a pound) I went back to my hotel and read until about 9 hen I went out for some tacos and a stroll around the town. After all the walking I had done I was aching a bit and decided to call it it night.

  1. I think I am struggling to make these posts interesting so I think I may reduce my writing to every few days and the highlights of what I have been doing, rather than giving a description of my daily life.

I am in Puerto Vallarta right now, about to go up to Sayulita to try to learn to surf for a couple of days, not sure about internet access there so I may be AWOL until Monday or so.

    Hope everyone has good weekends.
