San Pedro: Chillin'

This entry is part 25 of 27 in the series Guatemala

Day 99 – Tuesday 27th December 2005

Another lazy day, however I wasn’t hungover! I just didn’t want to do much. I woke up early again and went into the sun to write my diary and read, and aside from going to get breakfast that is where I stayed for most of the morning and early afternoon.

The hostel we were staying in was perfect for relaxing, it was right on the shore of the lake and had a great little jetty for laying about and diving into the water when it got too hot. By early afternoon though I had got my fill of sunshine for the day so retired to the shade to finish one book and begin a new one (Paul Theroux, a travelogue about a train trip from London to Tokyo and back again) I had read one of his books before and pretty soon I was engrossed in this book. As a result I spend the rest of the afternoon and evening in a hammock reading about train journey in Turkey and Iran. I did break myself away from the book for just long enough to have a steak dinner, but no beers as I was to be up early the next day to get a bus.
