San Pedro: Christmas Celebrations

Day 97 – Sunday 25th December 2005

Surprisingly, I woke up fresh and early after a pretty decent drinking session the night before. The sun was shining and I decided to get some early morning Christmas rays on my back. I also wanted to make sure I phoned home as early as possible so I got to the internet cafe as it opened. Half hour later I had given the family all my Christmas wishes and I was ready for breakfast.

Breakfast came in the form of smoked salmon, cream cheese, omlette and a bagel. As part of my Q150 entry fee to the pub I had breakfast, an afternoons entertainment and Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. So at 11 when said breakfast was served we were tucking into the food, and sipping bucks fizz! That was the life.

Due to my heavy breakfast, heavy Christmas eve festivities and early morning, I began to feel a little tired so took a little afternoon nap, waking just in time for the Queens speech and pub quiz. I am afraid to say my teams general knowledge was pretty poor. Following the quiz came an hour in which a few beers were drunk before dinner was served at about 6pm. The food was really nice, but it wasn’t the same as tucking into turkey with the family at home.

The remainder of Christmas day was spent with beer in hand, possibly even a few tequilas and generally getting more and more rowdy. Overall a totally different Christmas day but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
