Granada: Hostel Living

Day 117 - Saturday 14th January 2006

My late night meant that I nearly missed the big game, Spurs Vs Liverpool, live on Fox Sports at 9am. Its likely that being in Central America I can watch just as many, if not more, Premier League games as I could if I were in England.

I watched Spurs lose, then Man Utd lose then later in the day there was another game on but I didnt see it. It is the same every Saturday, Fox Sports show three English Premier League games.

After watching the football I decided to read some more of my book and generally laze about in a hammock. That seems to have become a general theme in Nicaragua, but it is so hot that it is impossible to do anything from about 11am to 4pm. Thats my excuse anyway!

The evening came around and I finally managed to have a wander of the streets of Granada, which is another lovely colonial town in the mould of Antigua in Guatemala and San Cristobal in Mexico.

After wandering around I went back to the hostel to cement my dominance in the games of Mastermind and Scrabble amongst the Black Rats, before watching a late night film and going to bed.

  1. Made it to Panama, I am in Bocas Del Toro for the moment, a beach resort. I was on a bus pretty much the whole weekend, going straight through Costa Rica.

    Staying where I am today, then going to the city of David tomorrow.
