Mendoza: Another Night on the Buses

Day 178 - Thursday 16th March 2006

After having a poor night out drinking in Mendoza, and then a bad mornings sleep I decided to leave the town, so bought a ticket for another overnight bus. This one would take me north to the town of Tucuman.

cama class

The bus didn’t leave until 8pm so I used the day to do a few things that were long overdue and then boarded the Cama (Bed) class bus and settled down for the 12 hours of relative luxury.

As I was leaving I thought that I hadn’t done any trekking around Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the world outside the Himalayas. I never thought about climbing it (apparently you can buts its pretty damn hard and expensive) but I would have liked to walk around the foothills for a few days. I totally forgot about that when I booked my ticket but as i sat on the bus thinking about whether to get off and stay in Mendoza I came to the conclusion that I wasn’t going to stay and as the bus left I fell asleep and woke up in Tucuman.

  5. Hi folks, arrived in Bolivia today, internet where I am is painfully slow so I am afraid I think I will be falling even further behind unfortunately. I am in a town called Tupiza in the south of Bolivia, lovely place, crap internet.

Friday a group of us are going into the Salt Plains for 4 days so wont be around to email but I am good and hope everyone else is too.

Lets see if I can make it work :-)

  7. Roy

Went fishing today with Nural, windy chair I had was empty, big gust of wind and chair went into pit, sunk, chair lost.

Tottenham lost, Blackburn play Monday and Arsenal won, still fourth, but not for long. Arsenal will win the Champions Cup anyway, so fourth place this season goes into Eufa Cup.

Health getting better, have to go back to doctor week after next. will advise

    Dad
