Salta: Back to Town Life

Days 184 & 185 - Wednesday 22nd & Thursday 23rd March 2006

To celebrate my success at leaving the town for the day, I had enjoyed a few beers the previous evening with 3 Swedish lads. It was due to this that I woke up late. Feeling a long way behind in both my diary and the blog I needed to spend a few hours trying to catch up.

In the end the writing wasn’t happening and I sacked it off after only writing and typing a few entries. The BBQ in the hostel seemed the perfect way to relax and a decent excuse to give up, and after a few Salta Cervezas the entire population of the Backpackers hostel were pretty oiled and we made our way en mass to a local bar, which we occupied until the wee small hours.

Again the beers in the evening meant that Thursday morning was pretty much a write off. Feeling pretty lethargic I again tried to catch up on my diary and the blog, with a little more success. Before I knew it, the evening had arrived. I spoke to an Israeli couple and we arranged to hire a car for a few days and drive out to Cafayate, starting Friday morning and returning Saturday evening. This was perfect in my plans as my aim of seeing more of the country had fallen by the wayside over the last few days.
