Salta: Hanging Out for Bolivia
Days 188 to 190 - Sunday 26th to Tuesday 28th March 2006
After the Saturday evenings events my Sunday was dintinctly quiet. Monday was only a little more active, I bought my ticket out of Argentina for the following evening, had a wander around town and watched Spurs beat West Brom.
Tuesday was pretty much the same, simply wating around for the evening when the six of us (Oscar, Jens, Robin, John, Aaron & myself) took an overnight bus to the Bolivian border. It was only right and proper that we celebrate leaving Argentina/entering Bolivia with yet another Argentine steak.
My six weeks in Argentina and one in Chile flew by, and despite seeing quite a lot of the country I still feel that I hardly did anything and the majority of the country still remains unknown to me. As one of the largest countires in the world it would be foolish to thunk that I could see all of it in such a short time, and the thing about that is that decisions have to made on what to see and what to miss.
Along with Mexico and Panama it is definately one of the countries I would love to return to at some point in the future to spend a lot more time. Despite a pang of regret at leaving Argentina, I was looking forward to spending the next 4 or so weeks in Bolivia. One slight concern is the distances and amounts of things I aim to try and squeeze in over the next 5 or 6 months before I return home. Time will tell if I am trying to do too much.
